Key worker system
Staff make every effort to settle a child into the routine of the session quickly as this can be very stressful for both child and parent.
Supporting a parent with the separation can be as important as supporting the child.
Each child has a Key Worker who writes their weekly Link Book, Learning Journey diary in which parents can read what their child has been doing which week. They will also write observations and do assessments on their children and complete reports to parents.
The Key worker shares profiles and assessments with the Key worker the child will move onto in the 3+ group.
(Flying Start additional requirements including Elkan, Learning Language and Loving it, Wellcomm and the Solihull Approach, all used to support children)

Mae staff yn gwneud pob ymdrech i setlo plentyn i drefn y sesiwn yn gyflym gan y gall hyn fod yn straen mawr i’r plentyn a’r rhiant.
Gall cefnogi rhiant gyda’r gwahaniad fod mor bwysig â chefnogi’r plentyn.
Mae gan bob plentyn Weithiwr Allweddol sy’n ysgrifennu eu dyddiadur Llyfr Cyswllt wythnosol, Taith Dysgu lle gall rhiant ddarllen yr hyn y mae ei blentyn wedi bod yn ei wneud yr wythnos honno. Byddant hefyd yn ysgrifennu arsylwadau ac yn cynnal asesiadau ar eu plant ac yn cwblhau adroddiadau i rieni.
Mae’r gweithiwr Allweddol yn rhannu proffiliau ac asesiadau gyda’r gweithiwr Allweddol y bydd y plentyn yn symud ymlaen yn y grŵp 3 +.

Funded educational sessions
3+ Educational funding group (10 hours per week)
Children move to this group the term that follows their 3rd Birthday. So, there is an intake to this group in September, in January and after the Easter break. Child can spend 3, 4 or 5 terms in this group depending on when their Birthday falls. 9am to 11-30am Monday to Thursday

Many of the children can then access the Childcare Offer for Wales (20 hours per week)

This funding is for working families and those in full time further education.
Or parents pay for the rest of the day. Thus children can stay for the whole day finishing at 3-15pm.
In this group, children often form their first proper friendships and find themselves in a peer group of friends to move onto full time school which occurs in September each year.

2 year old group
This is the group of children not yet eligible for 3+ educational funding and is for most of our children the first group they have joined where they are away from their parent. Children access these sessions either through being eligible for Flying Start funding or paying for the sessions.

The 2+ and 3+ children have a dedicated early years rooms and own outside playgrounds. As a Welsh medium setting all activities are delivered through the medium of Welsh in an age appropriate manner to best engage with the children and using the Incredible Years approach throughout.
Grŵp 2 oed
Dyma’r grŵp o blant nad ydyn nhw’n gymwys eto ar gyfer cyllid addysgol 3 + ac ar gyfer y rhan fwyaf o’n plant y grŵp cyntaf maen nhw wedi ymuno â nhw lle maen nhw i ffwrdd o’r rhieni. Mae plant yn cyrchu’r sesiynau hyn naill ai trwy fod yn gymwys i gael cyllid Flying Start neu dalu am y sesiynau.

Mae gan y plant 2 + a 3 + ystafelloedd blynyddoedd cynnar pwrpasol ac maent yn berchen ar feysydd chwarae allanol. Fel cyfrwng Cymraeg mae’r holl weithgareddau’n cael eu cyflawni trwy gyfrwng Cymry mewn modd sy’n briodol i’w hoedran i ymgysylltu â’r plant orau a defnyddio’r dull Blynyddoedd Anhygoel drwyddi draw.
Parents and toddlers
Friday – Our Parent and Toddler / Ti a Fi group
1-45pm to 3-15pm £1 per child
This is run by staff, where parents stay with their children and is aimed to enable parents to access Welsh language materials and equipment to undertake activities with their children. Its ethos is that of a ‘Language and Play / Number and Play session’. Attendance must be booked by calling: 07718 703680.

Mae hyn yn cael ei redeg gan staff, lle mae rhieni’n aros gyda’u plant a’i nod yw galluogi rhieni i gael mynediad i’r Gymraeg deunyddiau ac offer iaith i ymgymryd â gweithgareddau gyda’u plant.
