We believe that it is essential to create an atmosphere of trust and safety where children will strive to become independent and create an atmosphere of trust and safety where children will strive to become independent critical thinkers.
What we offer
We offer fully qualified and experienced staff to run Welsh medium daily sessions for children aged 2-years to school entrance age, Monday to Friday, 9am to 15.15pm. We also offer free 3+ educational funding sessions and have limited availability for all day childcare. Hours are also available on Childcare Offer hours for working families. We also offer a parent and toddler Ti A Fi Group (Birth to School Age) on Friday morning 9:15am to 11:15pm.
Ysgol Feithrin Y Trallwng believes that every child is a unique individual. Each child will develop physically, cognitively, emotionally and socially at his or her own pace. We believe children learn through play.
Play is their work. It is through play, art, and our hands-on approach that we introduce the Welsh language. For most of our children Welsh is not their first language however through regular attendance the children quickly learn to sound their first words.

Our Preschool Curriculum
Our curriculum is fundamentally learning through play Chronological age does not necessarily go hand in hand with developmental stage.
Our sessions are customised to meet each child’s individual needs; socially, emotionally, physical,ly and cognitively. The value of play/active learning cannot be emphasised strongly enough. When children are involved in their learning they take ownership.
Our daily practices have consistency and incorporate an emergent curriculum which stimulates each child’s unique interest, curiosity, and sense of discovery.
Ultimately, our curriculum strives to enhance the development of social skills, relationships, respect for others and oneself, self-help skills, autonomy, peaceful conflict resolution, and the empowerment of one’s own ideas and feelings.
During the session children are offered a healthy snack and drink.
Our staff to child ratio is:
2 to 3 years old is 1 adult to 4 children
3 to 4 years old is 1 adult to 8 children
We are registered for up to 24 children at a session.
